End of the Season
19 November 2007

Hi everyone!

I just want to say I'm so happy with the outcomes of this season. Returners made great strides on the ergs and in the boat while novice really exceeded my expectations. Between the varsity men having an excellent row at the Head of the Charles in Boston, the novice girls placing first in their heat at Mets and a million other day-to-day victories along the way, the season was a huge success.

I also wanted to remind you of a couple dates:
Monday, November 26 - First day of winter practice schedule
Wednesday, November 28 - Learn how to deal poker night
Sunday, December 2 - Poker Tournament

Congrats on completing the first (or another) fall semester and I hope that you fell in love with crew for the first time or yet again! Thanks for keeping up the positive attitudes (even at 5:30 a.m.!) and really giving your best effort every day at practice.

-Lauren

Writers Wanted
15 October 2007

Hey team. I am looking for people on the team who would be willing to write up articles detailing their and Hofstra Crew's experience at a Regatta or practice. One-time submissions are okay, I am preferably looking to have one article per race, and not from the same person every time. These articles will be used in a new section of the Hofstra Crew website that is to debut this coming summer.

Email me if you are interested, my pride address is Bridge1.

Thanks, and be sure to check out the updated roster!

Fall 2007 Season Information
20 August 2007

Hi Everyone,

I hope we're all ready to get back in gear. We were more than successful on several fronts throughout the 2006-2007 rowing season. Let's make it happen again for the 2007-2008 season. There's progress to be made on all levels; administratively, competitively, and in team size and cohesiveness. I just want to mention a few things to get the year started off right:

FOR NEW RECRUITS: INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (September 4th 5th 6th) in the conference room upstairs in the recreation center at 7:00 p.m. You only have to come to attend one meeting. We will answer and explain everything you want and need to know about Hofstra Crew at the meetings.

Practices for the Fall water season will again be held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on the water on Oyster Bay 6:00am-8:00am and Tuesday and Thursday in the Recreation Center on campus 6:30am-7:30am.

If you borrowed an erg, DO NOT forget to bring it back with you. Return it to the Rec Center and tell the person at the desk that Pat knows about it and that you just have to put it back into the closet in the gym.

To put it mildly, we are MAD EXCITED about this year and we know you are too!

See everyone soon,

- Gary & Lauren
